Hua Hin is a pleasant seaside town on the west coast of Thailand, about half way between Koh Phangan and Bangkok. Hua Hin is famous for being a royal city – a place where the monarch has a palace and regularly goes for holidays. The city has plenty of amenities and a good range of hotels. It is also a place famous for its seafood restaurants. The atmosphere is not raucous or salacious like Pattaya or parts of Koh Samui.

It is very easy to arrange travel between Koh Phangan and Hua Hin independently. It will save you money.

The option for booking online is a combined ferry, bus and train ticket that takes 1 day and 9 hours. Included is a sleeper berth on the overnight train. This is a comfortable but long method to get to Hua Hin. Krungsiam Tours offer this travel option. The ferry from Thongsala leaves at 11 am and arrives the following evening at 8 pm.

Alternatively, take an ferry to the mainland and book onward tickets in Suratthani. All traffic going north towards Bangkok passes through Hua Hin.
